Join Us for These EM Talks & Discussions
M&M’s Pre-Meeting Congress X-61, Contemporary Electron Microscopy Advances in Biomedical Research, was converted into the BioEM talks series to be held virtually on four consecutive Fridays starting July 30.
Aug 6, 10:30-11:00a.m. EDT, Research Talk
Enhanced Heavy Metal Staining of High-Pressure Frozen Freeze-Substituted Plant Specimens for Improved High-Resolution Serial Block Face SEM
Speaker: Kirk Czymmek, Donald Danforth Plant Science Center
Aug 13, 11:45 a.m. EDT, Hosted Discussion
What’s with Automation for EM Core Facilities? Talk to Folks Who Have Done It.
How does automation fit in EM labs? Is it for core labs, high volume labs, or PI research labs? Is it just for complex protocols like immunogold labeling and 3DEM (e.g., serial block face SEM)? Or is it for routine specimen prep?
Scientists with practical experience will be present to discuss, answer questions, and offer advice. All are welcome. Invited guests include:
- · Grahame Kidd and Emily Benson, Cleveland Clinic
- · Melainia McClain, Stowers Institute for Medical Research
- · Charlene Wilke, Northwestern University
- · Hosted by Mark T Nelson, Microscopy Innovations LLC
To Join: You must be registered for the BioEM meeting. (Registration is free.) Find the Microscopy Innovations virtual booth, move your avatar to the monitor icon, which will prompt you to type “x” to open its Zoom link and join the discussion.
Aug 20, 11:45 a.m. EDT, Innovation Talk Session
Six Years of Fully Programmable Electron Microscopy Specimen and Grid Preparation
Speaker: Steven L Goodman, Microscopy Innovations, LLC
